Choose columns, sort and export a list to Excel

Show only the columns you need, sort the list, and download exactly what you see as an Excel file.

These steps use Sales > Orders > Sales Orders. Every list works the same way.

Steps

  1. Click the columns button (the small list icon) at the right end of the header row. Tick the columns you want, for example Customer Reference and Untaxed Amount, and untick the ones you do not need, for example Type. Click outside the menu to close it.
  2. Click a column heading that shows arrows, such as Date or Total, to sort the list by it. Click it again to reverse the order.
  3. Narrow the list down first - for example type a customer name in the search box, or use Filters.
  4. Or tick the rows you want with the boxes at the start of each line. A bar shows how many are selected, for example 2 selected.
  5. Click Export. SiaOne downloads an Excel file, named after the list (for example sales-documents.xlsx), with the columns you chose. If you ticked rows, the file has only those rows. If you ticked none, it has every row the list currently shows.

Note

Ticked rows win: with two rows ticked, Export saves just those two, even if the list shows more. Click the x next to selected to clear the ticks.

Tip

Reports have their own PDF and XLSX buttons. To bring data into SiaOne from Excel, see the Imports & Exports lessons.
