Wrong quantity or price on a confirmed sales order? Correct it in place - invoices, payments and stock follow, and you do not start again.

Before you start

You need a confirmed sales order. See Confirm a quotation into a sales order. To change only a reference, a date, the delivery address or a note, use Edit details on a confirmed order instead.

Steps

  1. Open Sales > Orders > Sales Orders and click the confirmed order.
  2. Click the actions menu (⋯) next to the number and choose Correct order. The Correct order window lists every line with what is already Delivered and Invoiced.
  3. Change what is wrong. In the example, the Quantity of the keyboards goes from 4 to 5 and the Unit price of the surge protectors from 95 to 90. You can also click Remove on a line, or type a product in Add a product to add one.
  4. Click Review changes. A box called What will happen shows the new order total and lists every change. Nothing is saved yet - you can still change the figures or click Cancel.
  5. Click Apply correction. The order shows the new quantities, prices and total.

Note

Invoices already made from the order are posted again with the same number and date, and payments are applied again. If the customer has paid more than the new amount, the difference stays with the customer as credit. Stock is not touched - the cost of sales comes from the stock cost.

Important

If you lower a quantity below what was already delivered, SiaOne creates a return for the extra units, so the goods come back into stock.

Tip

Nothing delivered or invoiced yet and you want to start over? Open the actions menu and choose Reset to Draft instead - the order goes back to a quotation. See Confirm a quotation into a sales order.

What happens next

Carry on with the order as usual: deliver it and create the invoice.
