Steps

  1. Open Sales > Reporting > Sales by Customer. The note above the table says what is counted: confirmed sales orders, or posted customer invoices less credit notes, depending on Based On. Each row is a customer with the number of Documents, the Net, the VAT, the Total and what is Not Invoiced yet.
  2. Open Period and pick a preset such as This year to date, Last month or This quarter. The table and the total change at once. Choose Custom to type your own From and To dates.
  3. Set Based On to Customer Invoices to report on what was really invoiced, less credit notes. The Not Invoiced column becomes Unpaid, and a Payment Status filter appears.
  4. Open Payment Status and choose Not Paid to see only the invoices that are still waiting for money.
  5. Open Sales > Reporting > Sales by Product. Each row is a product with its SKU, Category, Qty and Net. Pick Last quarter as the period, choose a Product Category, and set Show to By Month to get one column for each month.
  6. Open Sales > Reporting > Sales by Salesperson. Each row is a salesperson with their documents and sales.
  7. Click Export and choose PDF, Excel or CSV to take the report away as a file.

Tip

The filters bar works the same on every sales report. Besides Period and Based On you can filter by Customer, Product, Product Category, Brand, Salesperson and Currency. With Based On set to Sales Orders you also get Delivery Status and Invoice Status - for example, to list the orders that are not fully delivered. Filters combine, and Clear removes them all.

Note

Each report has its own period and filters, so set them again when you open another report. Share next to Export emails the report or schedules it to be emailed.

What happens next

To see how much you earned after the cost of the goods, open the Gross Profit report. Money that customers still owe is on the accounting reports - see Record a customer payment.
