List all payments with the Payment Register
See every customer receipt and vendor payment in a period, with its method, status and how much is allocated to invoices.
Where to find it
AccountingReportsPayment Register
Steps
- Open Accounting > Reports and choose Payment Register under Management.
- Type the From and To dates and press Tab after each, or pick a ready-made Period.
- Each line is one payment. You see the Date, the Type (customer or vendor), the Payment number, the Partner, the Journal, the Method, the Status, the Reference, the Currency, the Amount, how much is Allocated to invoices or bills, and how much is still Unallocated. A payment you register straight from an invoice or bill counts as allocated.
- Open Payment Type and choose Vendor Payments to see only the money you paid out, or Customer Payments to see only the money you received. Bank / Cash, Payment Method and Partner narrow the list further.
- Open Allocation and choose Not Fully Allocated to list only the payments that are not matched to an invoice or bill yet. Choose Fully Allocated for the others.
- Click a payment number to open the payment, then click Payment Register in the path at the top to return to the register. Type in Search to find one payment.
- Click Export and choose PDF, Excel or CSV.
Note
A payment with an amount in Unallocated has not been matched to an invoice or bill yet, so it still sits on the customer's or vendor's account. See Unallocate a payment and Record an advance payment.
Tip
Cheques you have received or issued with a future date are in their own report: Post-dated Cheques.
What happens next
